For one of my final posts of the year, I want to share some recent photos I captured of my two little loves. This year we didn’t have the time to have family photos done for our holiday cards, but I wanted to be sure to document them since they are growing and changing everyday. To be honest, they can be my most difficult subjects to photograph because they have what’s called “Photographer’s Child Syndrome.” It means they’re kind of tired of my camera. Ha!
For the second set of photos I asked them to hug and of course, my son pulled away from my daughter like she has the cooties. In his defense, she was actually trying to kiss him. Ha! I’m not one to give up easily and eventually, I did manage to capture some great portraits–some fun moments and a few quiet moments.
Luckily, this location gave us gorgeous light. After the golden light faded, we hurried over to another part of the park for more photos. I asked them to pick flowers and hug. I asked my son to tell me the funniest fart story he knew and finally I got some real smiles from him. He can be a tough one! Like me, he does not enjoy being in front of the camera nearly as much as my daughter and I try to respect that as much as I can. So, there are a lot more photos of my daughter than my son. I love both my babies very dearly. They are my whole world. Hopefully, someday when they’re much older they will see these photos and appreciate them. Then, they’ll be happy I made them go to Mission Trails to take their portraits. 😉
Stay tuned next week for a blog post of my top 10 favorite photos from 2015. It’s been a great year for Rachel Manning Photography. I’m so thankful for this prosperous year and all my wonderful clients.
