One week ago we adopted a 9-month-old puppy named Skipper from a dog rescue organization called Labs and More. He was a favorite among his two foster Moms. He had been with their organization for two months and they both couldn’t believe he hadn’t been adopted yet. After hearing them rave about what a wonderful dog he was, and of course, after seeing his sweet little face in person, we just knew we had to take him home.
After only one week at home with us he’s settled in quite nicely and I think he’s really liking his new digs. He’s quite the couch potato yet he still has puppy energy and he is easily riled up. We love his playful energy. We feel like we really scored because even though he’s still a puppy he’s already house trained and is very respectful. He knows some of his commands too. He needs some training to not jump up on people, but at only 35 lbs. he’s pretty harmless and won’t knock my Littles down. He loves to give lots of licks and kisses too.
Each day when my son comes home from school it’s become a routine to play with Skipper outside. Most of these photos are of them together. They are great playmates and they can keep up with each other because they are basically the same age if you count Skipper’s age in dog years. Two little seven-year-olds running around the yard playing chase together. It’s too funny!
He is such a great dog and he has brought new life into our home and family. After saying goodbye to our dog Miles five months ago and taking some time to grieve, it was time to give another rescue dog a forever home. I’m so glad we found our Skipper. Everyday is an adventure when you have a new puppy in your life! 🙂 I apologize for going way over the limit of ten photos. I just think he is cute beyond words and I couldn’t narrow it down.
